The movie is a story about a mother's love for his son. He loves him so much, so as not to have to give up with their young lives. A sacrificing handkerchief, the last piece of her dowry, she put on the baby boy and presented it as a gift to her husband that he would take care of their son even without her. This is a story of destiny and sacrifice - both in war and in life. It tells the story of Tukaram (Sunny Deol), who has been appointed village Sangram (Protector) against his will by the villagers after they fight against evil forces, led by Rudaali (Kim Sharma). Both Tukaram and Rudaali are married, but to separate spouses. While their love is destined to be unrealized, they both have a child each. Tukaram's son is adopted by his wife's sister and Rudaali's daughter is adopted by her husband's brother, as both Tukaram and Rudaali had died in a fatal accident a few years back. Years later, Tukaram comes back from the U.S., where he was settled as a result of his marriage with Naira (Neena Kulkarni). While he had lost his job, he finds employment in a small village where Rudaali had again become the village Sangram. Tukaram finds out that Rudaali is his wife's brother-in-law, after which he does not welcome him at first. But Tukaram is very fond of Rudaali's daughter, who has grown up to be an attractive young lady. As Rudaali is also fond of her, he was very pleased with the development of the situation. However, some evil forces are trying to harm both children, so there are always tragic events following each other in the film. Ultimately, Tukaram and Rudaali can't help but fall in love with each other and the children stand beside their parents together. Tukaram and Rudaali meet at a village temple where both pray to God to end their curse of separation. The movie ends with the two children meeting again after many years after they had been separated as babies.The film score and songs were composed by Himesh Reshammiya while the lyrics were penned by Sameer. The film also has songs composed by noted singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam, which shows the immense popularity of all these four singers in India. The music was released by T-Series, while the lyrics and the film score were composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The music is a mix of Hindi and Bollywood; the songs are sung in Hindi and Bollywood. The album received positive reviews from critics. Sunny Deol was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Hindi) but lost to Vishal-Shekhar for "Kaante".The DVD 1 of the film was released on 22 July 2006 by T-Series while CD 1 of the soundtrack is already out, released on 22 May 2006. cfa1e77820
